Vanguard Printing is currently seeking an experienced and organized Traffic Manager for Logistical Management and Distribution of printed material.
The Traffic Manager should have knowledge and experience working in a business with medium to high volume transactions on a monthly basis. Must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Must have a strong ability to interact with co-workers, vendors, and management. Should be customer focused and understand internal and external customer needs.
This position will require a high level of safety, quality production and inventory accuracy through established procedures. Train and supervise shipping personnel in all aspects of shipping and distribution. Assure daily workload is completed in a timely and efficient manner. Assure all company standards are met in the areas of safety, quality, productivity and cost control. Position will perform the administrative and managerial functions for inventory control of supplied inserts, work in progress and finished goods.
As a Traffic Manager, you are responsible for:
- Assure daily compliance to the ship schedule.
- Coordinate all inbound and outbound shipments.
- Contact Carriers, Customers and Vendors as required.
- Negotiate competitive freight contracts.
- Supervise the creation and maintenance of all shipping related documents including:
- Bills of Lading
- Commercial Invoices
- All other shipping related paperwork.
- Ensure that all Customer specific/unique requirements are adhered to including:
- Paperwork
- Labeling
- Packaging
- Advance notification
- Routing instructions
- Proactively investigate all potential shipments prior to their availability, taking all necessary steps to ensure that no Traffic related delays in shipment occur.
- Measure & Report monthly shipping performance to Forecast.
- Responsible for the organization & control of all packaging materials.
- Investigate and resolve all shipping related customer complaints.
