Cards Furnished Folded

Format #1

• Double Card

  11 1/4" x 7 1/4" Minimum.
• Note:
  Wide panel - High or low folio should be validated with CSR before designing.

Format #2

• Single Card With Hanger
• Size:
  81/2" x 31/2" Minimum.

Wide panel will work either in the front or back of the book, but we prefer it in the back.

Format #3

FYI: Hanger can fold to either the front or back, but if it folds to the front it will not caliper with less than a 3 1/2" hanger. Maximum width of wide panel: 8" Any wider will cause binding slowdown. Maximum backbone: 7 1/2". Cards furnished flat may be perforated on the fold or a minimum of a 1/4" or more to either or both sides of the fold. Perforations must be a very flat "Lithoperf" type.

Furnished Inserts for Saddle-Stitched Publications

Format #5:

• 4 Page Insert

• 1/4" Minimum Lip

Lip with jog to head should be on the high folio.
Lip on low folio with jog to foot may require slowdown for reverse lip opening.
No lip requires vacuum opening and should be avoided if at all possible.

Format #6:

• Single Page Insert With Hanger
• Size:

Should be final trim size of book plus head, foot and face trim. 3 1/2" hanger is minimum. Rule of thumb: hanger should be at least 1/2" larger than the size of the insert

Format #7:

• 6 Page Foldout
• Size:

Trim size of book plus head and foot trim. Panel B must be 1/4" less than the face trim size of the book. Panel C must be less 1/4" than Panel B.

Format #8:

• Single Page
• Size:

Trim size of book plus head, foot and face trim. Tip-ons can be tipped either to the front or back of the press signature. Jog to head, tip to front. Jog to foot, tip to back.All tip ons must Be smaller than host piece. Before designing please validate with your CSR.

Format #9:

• 4 Page Form
• Size:

Trim size of book plus head, foot and face trim.

Cards tipping to the head or foot of tab forms must be at least 5 1/2". Anything less must float from foot at least 3". FYI: Absolute minimum on backbone side of tipper is 3 1/2". The overall size of a tip-on cannot exceed 8 5/8" x 10 1/8" for books and 11 1/4" x 10 1/2" for tabloids.

Panel B must be 1/4" less than the face trim of the magazine (after grind-off). Panel C must be 1/8" less than Panel B (after grind-off).

Format #4:

• 2 or 4 Page
• Card or Insert

Size:

Less than trim size cards need proper head/foot trim built in. Minimum size is 4 3/4" x 6"

This condition may require a slowdown (i.e., lightweight, curled or heavy perforation).
