Inserts shipped to VP should be packed in such a manner as to avoid curled edges and bent corners. Inserts should be received at VP ten (10) days prior to scheduled binding date to allow for proper handling, counting and checking.
• Ship Inserts To: (Name of Magazine)Each saddle stitcher has one card feeder for in-line card folding capability.Thus we can only run one card through the card feeder; all other cards within a job have to be folded. Any cards 7.555 or .less. should be supplied FLAT so they may be fed out of our card feeders. Therefore, we prefer that furnished cards .larger. than 7.5" should be supplied FOLDED.
All cards or inserts with lips or hangers should be discussed with your Customer Service Representative (CSR) before designing for high or low folio. This will help avoid slowdowns and extra charges or inability to stitch in.
Wide panel will work either in the front or back of the book, but we prefer it in the back.
Note: Hanger - High or low folio should be validated with CSR before designing.

FYI: Hanger can fold to either the front or back, but if it folds to the front it will not caliper with less than a 3 1/2" hanger. Maximum width of wide panel: 8" Any wider will cause binding slowdown. Maximum backbone: 7 1/2". Cards furnished flat may be perforated on the fold or a minimum of a 1/4" or more to either or both sides of the fold. Perforations must be a very flat "Lithoperf" type.

Cards tipping to the head or foot of tab forms must be at least 5 1/2". Anything less must float from foot at least 3". FYI: Absolute minimum on backbone side of tipper is 3 1/2". The overall size of a tip-on cannot exceed 8 5/8" x 10 1/8" for books and 11 1/4" x 10 1/2" for tabloids.
