Vanguard's safety record now stands at 1450 consecutive days as of April 18, 2011, without a lost time accident. President Mark Ploucha said "our safety record is a reflection of our process and procedures to insure that our team remains safe."
Vanguard has added a 6th stitcher to our compliment our full service bindery. Adding this stitcher allows Vanguard to provide even more stitched products per shift. Vanguard bindery manager said "This stitcher allows additional flexibility to meet client schedules".

All mills have announced an increase in the per cwt. This increase is effective the ship date from the mills. Increases range $1 cwt to $1.50 per cwt. With this increase in price the availability of paper have changed dramatically. Lead times on some stock may be 5 to 6 weeks.
Vanguard Printing with new software from EFI.
Vanguard Printing in Ithaca NY is upgrading existing ERP systems to the latest Monarch software from EFI. The status of jobs will be updated in real-time allowing clients on-line access to data.
This includes the Monarch Foundation, Monarch Planner, as well as the AutoCount 3000 on all web presses and AutoCount 1000 on sheetfed presses, saddle-stitchers, perfect binders, and mailing lines.
This new initiative will enable detailed process planning, optimize raw material inventory, track work-in-process, and track finished goods.
Also in development is the integration with the existing Agfa Apogee system. This will reduce the time required to prepare plates and reduce communication errors.
Project implementation is expected to be complete by June 1, 2010.
